Stamp with building

TNTpost and the Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAi) launched a series of stamps called ‘The City of the Netherlands’ named after the NAI’s new permanent exhibition. The stamps are graced by five visions of a future ‘City of the Netherlands’. One of the buildings is the Sky Parker designed by Urban Affairs in 2004.

The collaboration between the TNT and NAI has resulted in an unusual project – a series of postage stamps that are the very first of their kind. What’s special about these stamps is that they integrate Augmented Reality (AR). You can hold up the stamps in front of a webcam and see the buildings in 3D. This AR app works through a website Toekomst in Beweging .

Five visionary projects pictured on the stamps. The projects on the stamps feature designs by five Dutch firms of architects that are, as yet, unrealised: Neutelings Riedijk (Knowledge Cluster Arnhem), SMV & HAU (Parking Tower), MVRDV (Boekenberg Spijkenisse), ZUS (Wind Post Maasvlakte) and Search (Skytower).

Free entrance tickets to the NAI are also available on this site. And you can visit the NAI absolutely free if you bring a stamp along with you, used or not. The offer applies until 31 December 2011.
