Piet Barendse and Thijs Barendse were our guests in late August at restaurant Huson. The cultural season is about to begin again. It therefore seemed interesting to organize an evening about the cultural climate in Rotterdam. Where does the city come from? Where the town is going?

Since the seventies, Piet has a range of positions at Rotterdam Arts Foundation, Boijmans Van Beuiningen en V2. The stories of these time of pioneering are not only beautiful, but also make clear that the city has come a long way. Thijs is an entrepreneur and is involved in various cultural activities in the city. In his projects (De Dépendance, Rotterdam Late Night ) accumulates the current energy in the city.

Experiences they have both also gained outside Rotterdam. That makes the discussion about Rotterdam and Rotterdam subjects passionate without blind adoration and sincere without chagrin. The special combination of father and son was therefore in many ways beautiful.
