Marleen Hermans (partner Brink Groep, professor at TU Delft) and Fred Schoorl (director Royal Institute of Dutch Architects) were at our table at restaurant Huson. at the end of March. It was a lovely evening. The experiences of our guests led to an intense debate.
Marleen and Fred have pioneered by the government of two influential developments. Marleen developed the first DBFMO contracts. Fred is one of the founders of the Belvedere policy. Supply chain integration and cultural history are obvious in the world of construction and planning now.
Marleen and Fred told from their current position passionate about the possible role of architects in the future. All partners in the construction and real estate industry are facing a crisis of confidence. Clients often lack the proper knowledge. As architects liberate themselves from their shackles, they can be significant and may acquire an interesting position.
Daan Bakker (Daf-architecten), Jeroen de Willigen (DeZwarteHond), Jasper de Haan (architect) and I invite each month a number of colleagues to eat, drink and discuss about our profession, the city of Rotterdam and related matters.
